Dubai English Speaking College (DESC) pupils were given an int-roduction of how to play the Liverpool way during a coaching clinic run by the English Premier League academy.
More than 25 boys and girls aged 12 and above, undertook one-hour sessions under the guidance of Liverpool International Academy coaches Colin Wilson and Simon Smith.
Besides showcasing their skills and learning which attributes are required to follow in the same footsteps as Kop heros Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, the clinics also consisted of a question and answer session.
“It was a very good day for pupils at Dubai English Speaking College,” said Paul Barratt, co-ordinator of Elite Player Pathway at DESC.
“The children thoroughly enj-oyed it and having trained under the two coaches, they got a feeling what it’s like how the first-team stars train at Liverpool.”
He added: “More importantly they learned how crucial it is to have a strong mentality when it comes to playing football.
“The children are always focused but the coaches emphasised it’s how you play in different match scenarios that make them better.
“Overall, it was a great learning experience for all the children and they asked some good knowledgeable questions and hopefully they can build on from these sessions.”
