A number of schools have already registered, with youngsters ready to tackle the challenging new karting series.

ESKC manager David Bright said: “The goal is to establish schools karting as an officially sanctioned extracurricular activity in UAE schools, and the success of the inaugural series will go a long way to achieving this.”

Interested drivers and teams, as well as participants who are already signed up, are invited to attend this weekend’s event, which will enable them to become familiar with the rules and regulations of the ESKC, as well as affording them track time free of charge.

Schools including Cambridge International School, Emirates International School Meadows and Jumeirah English Speaking School Arabian Ranches have confirmed teams for the schools championship, while Ghost Racing Team were the first to register for the Nomads Challenge.

With the minimum age limit at 12, the ESKC caters for all high school students and promotes teamwork, strategy, commitment, discipline and race craft.
