Dubai Tribe search for UAE basketball stars with latest tryouts

The Dubai Tribe are holding tryouts this Friday in search of the next batch of talented young basketball players for the upcoming spring and summer season.

An under-14 team has been added this year to go with the U16 and U18 squads. The elite development programme focuses on advancing players’ skills and competing in local and international games.

This summer, squads will head to Los Angeles and Las Vegas in July for tournaments against some of the top young players in the United States, including the adidas Super 64.

Tryouts will be held at Jumeirah Model Girls School near Safa Park and will start at 14:00 for boys born in 2002 or later, 15:30 for 2000 or later and 17:00 for 1997 or later.

The MENA Basketball Showcase, in affiliation with the Dubai Amateur Basketball Association and Dubai Tribe, will also expand in its second edition this spring.

To be held on the weekend of May 28-30, the event will have a combine and qualifiers for the dunk contest and 3-point contest on Thursday, the All-Star games on Friday and scouting scrimmages on Saturday.

The region’s first MENA All-Stars travel team will be formed, consisting of players from last year’s event and new talent to compete at in the Junior International Tournament in Italy in April.
