The venue regularlyl hosts Premier League, international cricket and rugby teams, who make full use of the multi-purpose sporting community.

“The summer months makeoutdoor sport activities difficult," Maqbul Dudhia, GM of Sports and Events Business said. "We want to make sure Sports Village is providing everyone with a great place to play sport, be with their friends and continue being active.”

Michel Salgado, the former Real Madrid player who is now Director of Football at Dubai Sports City explains how the initiative will keep Dubai active over summer.

“This is an incredible environment to play sport,” Salgado said. “The Football Dome is such a good place, and then you have everything else in Sports Village around you like the ICC Academy and places for the whole family to relax.

Activities will include football and cricket tournaments, as well as summer multi-sport camps and the opportunity to rent out the Football Dome and facilities at the ICC Academy.

“I have never been to a facility like this,” said Australia’s World Cup winning coach, Darren Lehmann. “It’s fantastic and there are no complaints from us.”
