Over 1,200 players from 71 teams and 25 countries gathered for the premier Ultimate Frisbee competition—the first time the competition had been held in the Middle East.

USA claimed success in six of the seven divisions, while Germany were surprise winners in the Mixed Division,  claiming a 11-9 success over Canada.

Ultimate Frisbee sees teams attempt to reach the end-zone of their opponent by catching a frisbee. Whichever side scores 13 points first, or has the most points after 45 minutes, is crowned the winner.

Team UAE competed across four divisions at the competition—Open, Mixed, Women’s and Grandmasters—and finished 12th out of the 16 competing teams, above their pre-tournament seeding.
