Dubai Police dominated the Fearless Warrior category at the fourth Dubai Desert Warrior Challenge on Friday, clinching the top three places in the event held at the Dubailand district.

Supported by Dubai Sports Council and a part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge this year, the Dubai Warrior Challenge saw record participation, but it was Emirati policeman Saeed Al Kindi who took the top spot among the Fearless Warriors, completing the 5km, 12 obstacle-course in 32 minutes and 10.5 seconds.

His Dubai Police compatriots Khalid Al Khouri (32:34.5) and Khalifa Madhaf (32:39.7) followed close behind. All three belonged to the male 25-29 age group.

Dubai policemen also took the top three positions in the male 18-24 age group of the Fearless Warrior category, and they also bagged the top spot in the women’s 25-29 age group.

In the Ultimate Warrior category, Norway’s Hallvard Borsheim, winner of last year’s Singapore Spartan in both the Sprint and Super categories, was fastest on the 10km course, clearing the 20-plus obstacles and reaching the finish line in 48 minutes and 38 seconds.

Great Britain’s Kerry Cook took the top honours among the Female Ultimate Warriors, finishing well clear of Croatian Helena Tustic.
