The unique open-air tournament has been a hit since being introduced as the inaugural World Series of Darts event by the Professional Darts Corporation in 2013.

Aired worldwide on TV, the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters is one of six international events on the World Series of Darts schedule, opening the 2017 season with the two-day championship in May.

World number one and 2017 world champion Michael van Gerwen won the tournament in each of its first three years from 2013-2015, before Gary Anderson lifted the 2016 trophy.

Both Van Gerwen and world number two Anderson are set to be among the eight players competing in Dubai in May in the fifth installment of the event.

Play will commence on Wednesday May 24 with the four quarter-finals, before the conclusion on Thursday May 25 features the semi-finals and final.

“We are delighted to once again sponsor the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters,” said Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free.

“With eight of the world’s top players participating and a great ticketing offer, we think that the UAE crowd will enjoy this unique outdoor darts event which is shown all over the world.”

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, February 23, with tickets priced from Dh150 daily or from Dh7,999 for VIP tables of ten.
