Ravichandran Ashwin may be making a name for himself as one of India’s finest all-rounders but one man he will continue to aspire to is the legendary Kapil Dev.

The former Indian cricket captain celebrates his birthday on January 6, moving on to 57 not out.

He was an outstanding batsman and pace bowler, leading India to their first World Cup title in 1983 against the much fancied West Indies.

Dev retains the distinction of being the only player in history to take more than 400 wickets (434) and score more than 5,000 runs.

In 2010, he was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
