The Buffalo Bills never managed to win the Super Bowl despite four straight final appearances in the early 1990s, but they made history along the way.

On this day in 1993, Buffalo beat the Houston Oilers in improbable fashion in the AFC Wild Card clash, overcoming a 32-point deficit to win 41-38 in overtime.

To this day, the epic game at Rich Stadium remains the largest comeback in NFL history.

Houston were unstoppable in the first half and led 28-3 at the intermission, but Buffalo stormed back with 28 points in the third quarter and eventually sent the contest to overtime, where they intercepted Warren Moon to set up Steve Christie’s game-winning 32-yard field goal.
