Saeed Al Nuaimi scored a golden goal as the UAE maintained their perfect record in the Challenge Cup of Asia by beating Thailand 5-4 at Zayed Sports City on Monday night.

The hosts are second behind defending champions Chinese Taipei, who beat Kuwait 16-1 yesterday.

In other results, Mongolia beat Hong Kong 9-2.

Omer Al Shamisi and Juma Al Dhaheri gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Tim Suphankomut pulled one back for the visitors.

Obaid Al Muharrami restored the two-goal cushion for the UAE and the lead was later extended thanks to Mubarak Al Mazrouei.

But Thailand rallied to level the scores through Masata Kitayama, Likit Neiumwan and Tewin Chartsuwan.

Yet despite their efforts, Al Nuaimi pounced home to delight the home fans.
