When Tiger Woods was at his peak as a golfer, there have been few, if any, players in history who’ve been as dominant. The American has an amazing 14 major championship titles to his name, with the 12th having come on this day in 2006.

The setting was Medinah for the 88th edition of the PGA Championship, with Woods winning the tournament for the third time in his career, finishing five shots ahead of runner-up Shaun Micheel.

Woods was unstoppable in the third round, shooting a course record with a 7-under 65, before holding on to the lead on the final day to move to 12-0 in majors when leading or sharing the lead after 54 holes.
