The recently-retired 20-times champion jockey was unhurt and was pleased to report everyone else involved in the crash walked away.

He told Press Association Sport: "A van collided with a car in front of me and I had nowhere to go.

"I'm fine and and everyone else involved is good, which is unbelievable really, as it was a fair old impact.

"The three vehicles are gone (written off), but it's nice to walk away from something like that."
