Derby-winning jockey William Buick is set to see a consultant this week as he remains on the sidelines.

Buck, who was unshipped on the way to post from Sir Busker at Ascot on May 10, has been out of action since partnering the Charlie Appleby-trained two-year-old newcomer Expressionist to victory at the same track 24 hours later.

Buick missed his intended mounts in France the next day after reportedly feeling unwell.

The 30-year-old, who is retained by Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation, subsequently spent some time at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he underwent tests.

“We’ve no idea yet how long he’ll be out and obviously it’s been the Bank Holiday weekend,” said his agent George Baker.

“He’s got a date with his consultant this week some time and we should know more then.”
