Zedan have been crowned McLaren Cup champions after defeating Bin Drai Polo in a thrilling final by 10 goals to 9.

The first trophy of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series came to an end after an exciting day of polo at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.

Earlier in the day Habtoor Polo the Hildon Cup after defeating Mahra by 10-9.

Patron Mohammed Al Habtoor’s team were led to Hildon Cup by star player Guillermo Cuitiño, who scored the winning goal in the final seconds of the game.

Habtoor: 3-2/ 5-2/ 6-7/ 8-9/ 10-9

Zedan, with ten goaler Pablo Mac Donough the pick of the players, had to weather an early storm with Bi Drai going up 3-0.

But after Mac Donough kicked into action for Amr Zedan ́s team, Zedan led from the second chukker till the end.

Pablo Mac Donough was the MVP of the final and also the top scorer of the McLaren Cup with 27 goals, while his mare, Paloma, was the BPP of the final.
