Cyclists can rejoice with the return of Ride Ajman, back for a third year with a new and improved edition.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) & Department of Lands and Properties, the event will take place at the beautiful Al Zorah Marina 1 on Friday March 13.

Following a successful two edition, the community cycle has expanded this year to a 115km route with full road closures beginning from the Corniche and running through the emirate.

Organisers are expecting over 1,000 cyclists to participate – record-breaking numbers since it launched in 2016 as Ajman’s attractive offering as a tourist destination appeals to many.

Positioned to increase interest in cycling for locals, the UAE National Development Race is also making a comeback as part of Ride Ajman and has been extended to 58km.

New for 2018, the 58km ride is open to all nationalities to ensure that those with various cycling abilities have the opportunity to be part of the Ride Ajman weekend.

His Excellency Saleh Al Geziry, Director General of ATDD, said: “Ride Ajman is now a popular fixture in UAE’s sporting calendar and we are delighted to launch the event once more as we continue to promote Ajman as the ideal destination for sports, leisure and tranquility for tourists from within the UAE and abroad.

“As we are looking to build on the previous years’ successes so that we continue to provide a unique event for all cyclists and their friends and family.”
