Ten-time world champion boxer Manny Pacquiao will visit Dubai to open the eagerly-anticipated new GO Sport megastore at Mall of the Emirates, the sports retailer has confirmed.

The store, which will feature dedicated sports zones alongside a 10-metre volcano-shaped climbing unit, will be visited by the boxing superstar on 5 November 2015, and fans are being told to keep a close eye on GO Sport social media pages for information on the chance to meet the world champion.

Pacquiao, 36, has enjoyed a glittering 20-year career in the ring, defeating the likes of Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya on his way to being crowned ‘Fighter of the Decade’ by the Boxing Writers Association of America, the World Boxing Council, and the World Boxing Organisation in 2011.

Since then, Pacquiao has participated in basketball, business, acting, music, and politics.

Earlier this month he made the headlines when he announced he would run for a seat in the Senate in his native Philippines.

Meanwhile, the professional boxer’s appearance at the GO Sport opening follows confirmation that the new store, which is located on the new third floor at Mall of the Emirates, is the brand’s largest in the world.
