MMA and boxing fans will want to make their way to the Movenpick Hotel in Dubai tonight (Thursday) as there are some promising bouts lined up.

#Quiz360: Thursday's teasers – WIN 250AED to spend at Legends Bar

Titled as ‘Count Down’ and presented by Fit Boys Promotions, for Dh200 per ticket, fans can look forward to eight quality bouts, including three boxing matches, a mixed martial arts duel and kick-boxing.

The competitors have travelled from around the world including Ghana, the United States and Pan-ama for this one-day event.

Middle East champion Mohammad Ali Bayat will be among those to take to the ring when he faces Lambert Fogoum in the main event of the night. And Gerald Dah, with a perfect record of nine victories, takes on Armando Cordoba, winner of 24 in his 70 bouts. Event promoter Milad Saadati says the competition will provide some thrilling bouts.

He said: “The fight-card is very good and the bouts will be of a very high standard. The competitors have been training hard for this event and will do all they can to put on a good show.

“In Dubai, a lot of people enjoy different contact sports like kick-boxing, martial arts and we decided to have different categories on the night.”

Saadati held his first event in February, which attracted over 400 spectators, and he hopes to have a similar turn-out tonight.
And he believes the atmosphere inside the venue will be buzzing.

He said: “It will be a very good show. It’s a big venue and the atmosphere is of the same standard that you would expect for an MMA or boxing match. A true champion will fight through anything.”

Tickets can be purchased at the venue.
