Over 650 runners took part in the second edition of the ADCB Zayed Sports City 5 and 10km series presented by Activelife at Zayed Sports City on Friday.

TU World Triathlon Series to host aquathlon event for youngsters in Abu Dhabi

The race saw people of all ages make their way around the circuit, with the winners setting a rapid pace from the outset.

Samuel O’Shea used the UAE’s first run of 2015 to prepare for upcoming international events such as the ITU World Triathlon in Abu Dhabi in March.

O’Shea said: “This run is important for my triathlon training goals. The results guide how I plan my six-week training period.”

The race witnessed an increased participation of 26 per cent over last year.

The final event of the series will take place on March 13 with all proceeds from the second and third races going to the Special Care Centre in Abu Dhabi. For further information and to apply visit premieronline.com.
