The 106th edition of MLB’s championship series was played between the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants.

The Giants took the first two games before the Rangers hit back in the third. San Francisco got back to winning ways in the fourth.

The fifth game of the best of seven series was played on this day in 2010 at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

In the crunch game, San Francisco outscored Texas 29 to 12 and shut out the Rangers twice to secure their first World Series championship since 1954 and their first since relocating to San Francisco from New York in 1958. Edgar Renteria was named the MVP of the series.
