Emirates New Zealand appeared to be coasting to victory in the 2013 America's Cup until Sir Ben Ainslie was asked to join the American.

The British Olympic legend combined superbly with Oracle's Australian skipper James Spithill to drag the syndicate back and launch a stunning late surge to snatch the title on this day two years ago.

The victory marked one of the most improbable comebacks in the history of sport. The team won 11 races to score the 9 points required for victory due to a penalty imposed by the International Jury.

This was the third time in the history of the America’s Cup with a winner-take-all final race.

1962: Sonny Liston KOs Floyd Patterson in the first round of a Heavyweight title fight.

1988: American sprinter Florence Griffith Joyner runs an Olympic 100m record of 10.49s in Seoul.

1991: American Carl Lewis wins 100m gold in the third World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
