Pakistan’s Javed Miandad played in an era where the team changed captains regularly.

In 1988, he regained the leadership role and prove his worth with the bat once again, this time against the Australians in the Karachi Test.

Pakistan batted first and Miandad cracked a scintillating 211 and powered the hosts to 469 for 9 declared, with Shoaib Mohammad the next best at 94.

It was the fifth of six double tons that Miandad scored in his career and laid the foundation of a dominating Pakistan performance as the hosts shot Australia out for 165 and 116 to complete one of the most comprehensive Test victories by an innings and 188 runs.
