Hamilton Aquatics have launched their new and improved Learn to Swim programme, incorporating even more safety into the fun lessons.

The programme, launched at the beginning of this month, is available at a number of locations across Dubai, as well as three new venues: Star International School, Ranches Primary School and Dubai British School.

Other locations include GEMS Wellington Academy, Greenfield Community School, Emirates International School and more.

The Middle East’s swimming academy has been operating in the region for just less than 10 years, using the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) Learn to Swim programme to teach youngsters.

In April, however, Hamilton Aquatics altered the programme to fit the needs of Middle Eastern swimmers, utilising cutting-edge scientific research to develop the new Hammy’s Learn to Swim programme, named after the academy’s mascot.

The programme focuses on basic movement literacy in an aquatic environment.

The UKCC Level Two teachers deliver fun, but educational lessons to take swimmers’ fundamental skills to the next level, polishing them into stroke technique.

Safety is paramount in the new programme, with Hamilton Aquatics’ educational team providing staff with ongoing technical training and their own dedicated health and safety coordinator to keep an eye on the lessons.

Every month, each and every one of the 64 swimming teachers and coaches has a minimum of two hours of first aid, CPR and water rescue training.

Hamilton Aquatics managing director, Chris Tidey, said: “The new programme is engaging and innovative which ensures our swimmers are part of the most pioneering swimming academy in the MENA Region.

“We believe that with the combination of this new programme and our dedicated Education and Health and Safety Team, we are setting the benchmark for swimming lesson standards and safety in the Middle East.

“There isn’t a safer way to learn how to swim.”

The weather in the UAE is ideal for swimming year-round and with Hamilton Aquatics’ Learn to Swim programme, both kids and adults can become comfortable in the water and swim recreationally on their own at home or at the beach.
