The Malaysian is a true legend of squash, who has won the World Open title a record eight times.

David, who turns 32 today, is the number one female squash player in the world and, in February this year, overtook New Zealander Susan Devoy for the longest reign at the top of the rankings, which had previously been 105 months.

David’s reign currently stands at 111 months.

David is the first squash player to have won the World Junior title twice, in 1999 and 2001. She turned pro in 2000 and was Malaysia’s torchbearer for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Considered by some to be one of the greatest women’s squash players of all time, David’s other notable achievements include winning the Asian Squash Championship a record nine times and five British Open titles.

David has also obtained the WSA Player of the Year on seven occasions.
