MIKE TYSON (49): The American is probably the most famous boxer is history after Muhammad Ali and with very good reason. The New Yorker became heavyweight champion of the world, aged just 20, which is a record that is unlikely to be beaten. He did it with the help of his trainer Cus D’Amato, who died shortly before Tyson got his hands on the gold.

Although he remained successful for a while D’Amato’s death deeply affected Tyson, whose wayward lifestyle eventually cost him the title – beaten in a massive shock by James Buster Douglas in 1990 – and then saw him jailed following a rape conviction which he has always disputed. He won the gold again in 1996 after his release but wasn’t the same.

Tyson had been one of the most ferocious heavyweights in history. He fully deserved his ‘baddest man on the planet’ moniker.

GARY PALLISTER (50): Decorated former Man United and England defender.

SANATH JAYASURIYA (46): Former Sri Lankan all rounder and captain.

MICHAEL PHELPS (30): Multi-time Olympic medal winning swimmer from the US.

FREDY GUARIN (29): Colombian footballer who plays for Italian club Internazionale.
