RAUL (38): An icon, a legend and a nation’s favourite son. The Real Madrid great is still lacing up his boots with NASL side New York Cosmos. Considered one of the most important playes in both Los Blancos and his national side’s history, he won six La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues – scoring in two of those finals.

During a 16-year career at the Spanish giants, he plundered 323 goals and is the club’s all-time top goalscorer – though Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on that record – and is their most capped player with 741 games. The formidable forward did not win any major titles while playing for Spain but he scored a then-record 44 goals in 102 games for La Roja, appearing in three World Cups and two European championships. He took over the captaincy in 2002 and held it until 2006 when he stopped playing international football.
