Going Out: Dubai Sports City offers you the ultimate escape this summer

The summer is here but this hasn’t stopped the sporting activities at Dubai Sports City.

With state-of-the-art facilities like the Football Dome and ICC Academy, there’s plenty going on at a venue where some top Premier League clubs and international cricket teams, including Australia and England, have all trained.

It’s no surprise that Dubai Sports City has earned rave reviews and you can find out why with football, cricket and other sports summer camps just some of the things on the agenda that will keep children and adults entertained.

If you’re a keen footballer, you can showcase your talent in the Ramadan football tournament between July 1 -16.

Matches are from 21:30 to 01:30 with all the action taking place in the indoor FIFA-approved airconditioned Dome at the Football Academy. Team entry costs Dh4,000.

For children between five and 14 who love the beautiful game, then they will not want to miss out on the Football Academy’s Summer Camp. From July 5 to August 13, kids will be kept busy with fun-filled activities with prices at Dh230 (daily), Dh950 (weekly) and Dh4,750 for the full six weeks.

Budding cricketers can learn how to enh-ance their skills as well as play fun matches at the ICC Academy’s Summer Camp.

Featuring different age groups from six to 18, prices range from Dh700 to Dh1,000 for two weeks which varies from July 5 to 30.

Additionally, the popular Cricket Cubs Summer Camp also returns for three to six year olds which takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from July 7 to 30.

There will also be opportunities to rent out the Football Dome and facilities at the ICC Academy so you can play when you want, at facilities that have proven to be a massive success with the big sporting teams in the world.

Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado, now director of football at Dubai Sports City said: “This is an incredible environment to play sport.

“The Football Dome is such a good place, and then you have everything else in Sports Village around you. “When I was a professional footballer, I would have been impressed with this.

“To play here as an amateur, or as a young child, it’s incredible.”
