Although the men are athletic, it proved to be a challenging task for some including Lebanese kickboxer Ahmed Labban who struggled to stay on his board.

Before they got down to business, Australian model and former professional athlete, Nick Youngquest, gave the challengers a masterclass in the basics of surfing and the 'popping up' technique they would attempt.

It turned out that teaching the competitors on land was a much different story compared to the real thing in the water.

Some of the men had surfed before and appeared to be naturals, but it was easy to acknowledge Labban's lack of experience on a surfboard. However, this didn't perturb the Lebanese.

"I fell a lot of times but after that I got up again and fight until the end," Labban explained. "If you want to start anything for the first time it takes you time to be better."

His surfing coach found Labann's troubles amusing and couldnt help but laugh when the bulky kick-boxer lost his footing.

All-in-all the competitors had fun in this latest challenge and proved to the public that they are up for testing their limits and learning new skills.
