Let the games begin – Ahmed going for glory in Invictus Season 3

The waiting is over for the start of Season 3 of the Invictus Award by Paco Rabanne, as 10 athletes from all over the world compete a Dhs 206,000 (€50,000) prize to spend on their respective sporting charity projects.

Episode 1 is out now, with the chosen 10 meeting presenter Nick Youngquest in the Mexican desert to be briefed on what lies ahead. 

The athletes will compete in a series of physical challenges, the results of which will be combined with a public vote to determine the winner.

PROJECT: Create freeride skiing training courses for young people 

James (USA): “We’re here to win for our cause, I plan on fighting hard for it”

PROJECT: Support his former (junior) American football team 

Jonathan (Mexico): “Just be first. That’s my sentence. Always. Everywhere.”

AGE: 25 

PROJECT: Open the first high diving school in Mexico 

Anton (Russia): “Nothing scares me, I’m here to push myself to my limits.”

DISCIPLINE: Street Workout 

AGE: 26 

PROJECT: Create workout courses for students on their campuses 

Vicent (Spain): “I will put all my energy into this challenge because I want to win.”

DISCIPLINE: Pole vault 

AGE: 19 

PROJECT: Start up pole vaulting courses in underprivileged areas 

Ben (United Kingdom): “The Invictus challenge is a major opportunity”

DISCIPLINE: Decathlon 

AGE: 24 

PROJECT: Create an athletics camp for underprivileged young people
