Fifth UAE edition of Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five set to kick off in Sharjah

Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five, the world’s largest five-a-side tournament, will kick off its fifth UAE edition on February 19 with the opening ceremony taking place at Sharjah’s Al-Tahadi Football Club.

Qualifiers will take place at 14 locations across the Emirates with the final matches hosted on March 26 at Madar at Aljada, the popular entertainment destination in Sharjah. Teams are competing to win a place at the Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five world finals at the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. in Praia Grande, Brazil.

Kick off: The event takes place across the Emirates

The seven members of each of the two winning finalists, consisting of five main and two reserve players, will fly to Brazil to represent the UAE in the international tournament and have the opportunity to face Neymar.

In addition to the men and mixed teams, this year’s edition will include female-only qualifiers in partnership with Sharjah Women’s Sports Club for the first time in the UAE, with one team set to compete at the world’s final.

This year’s edition Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five in the UAE is expected to draw the participation of over 3,000 players, joining tens of thousands of football fans from across six continents. The 2021 UAE qualifiers are being held with support from Arada, the tournament’s national sponsor and the master developer behind Aljada.

Big prize: The winners will jet off to Brazil to play against Neymar

In 2018, Red Bull Neymar Jr’s international tournament witnessed the best UAE representation so far, with finalists Al-Rijab winning third place overall.

Registration for the UAE qualifiers starts at the beginning of February, with interested teams required to sign up via the official tournament website: www.redbullneymarjrsfive.com/en/AE

The qualifiers across the Emirates will be held in line with the local health measures and restrictions in order to keep the community safe.
