The Desert Warrior Challenge (DWC) returns for its second installment of 2019, this time with its debut in Ras Al Khaimah, on Al Marjan Island by Marjan.

Hot on the heels of their most successful event ever, back in February, the team behind the tough obstacle course race is aiming to break records with the next edition. Warrior favourites, like the Beast obstacle, and the breathtaking Warrior Zip Line will be back in action as participants tackle the various obstacles

Managing director of Warrior Events, Troy Gilham, said: “Each new destination for DWC presents another opportunity for us to really challenge our Warriors on some new turf. The course in February had some of our biggest obstacles yet and participants felt a real sense of triumph as they crossed the finish line. The Warrior mentality is second to none, and while we keep raising the bar with our obstacles, our Warriors keep reaching it. Taking the course to RAK is an exciting move for us and the team are thrilled to have the opportunity to become part of the adventure capital of the UAE by staging our next event there.”

The DWC has been running since 2014 and the next chance to tackle the event, on a course designed to break your barriers and push your limits, is Friday 8th November. The Fearless Warrior course will have over 12 obstacles plotted along 5km for the serious competitors. Kids aged six and above can hit the 1km and 2km Junior Warrior courses. Each course consists of a wide range of obstacles where participants run, crawl, jump, carry, climb and slide their way to the finish line. Participants can make their Warrior experience extra special with options for and personalised videos.

Eng. Abdullah Al Abdooli, CEO of Marjan, said: “We are delighted to host the debut of the Desert Warrior Challenge in Al Marjan Island, which has defined its credentials as a leading lifestyle destination that appeals to visitors from around the world. This is a strong statement on the growing appeal of Ras Al Khaimah as a preferred venue for major events, and the popularity of Al Marjan Island among event organisers.”

The challenge kicks off at 7am on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah, and is expected to last until 4pm. Ticket prices are $129 for the Fearless PRO Male and Female and Fearless PRO Team events. Fearless Warrior is $112 and the
Fearless Junior is priced at $46. With 1,500 participants expected to take part, entrants are encouraged to sign up early via www.desertwarriorchallenge.com/registration.
