The internationally acclaimed Dubai Show Jumping Championship (DSJC), held under the supervision of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF),kicks off today at the Emirates Equestrian Centre, with riders competing for a share of the prize money – totaling a staggering Dhs 2 million.

The four-day event runs until Saturday 19th and is expected to be bigger than last year’s edition, which was elevated to CSI five-star status — the highest possible level global show jumping competitions. Last year’s show attracted nearly 400 entries from 23 countries across three days of competition.

The stakes are high at the sixth international show of the season as this year’s competitors are striving to clear jumps up to 160cm. There’s plenty for spectators to enjoy away from the show too, with an entertainment village that has been specially constructed with stalls and food trucks offering a variety of local and international cuisine. In between classes, EEC will also offer an excellent entertainment programme, including stunt shows by the Dubai Mounted Police, dressage and flamenco performances along with a live band.

The show will boast a total of 11 classes, including six CSI five-star classes and five CSI two-star classes. For more information on the Emirates Longines Show Jumping League or to learn about upcoming shows visit www.emiratesequestrian.com.
