TOP STORY

On current form, Manchester City should claim all three points at Etihad Stadium today (20:30 UAE time)

Derby day, however, has a habit of throwing a spanner in the works, something the Premier League champions know all about after their cross-town rivals delayed their coronation in dramatic fashion last season.

Add to that a Manchester United side who don’t seem to know when its beaten lately and the encounter is hardly a foregone conclusion.

Read our talking points, tactical talking points for Manchester United and Manchester City, and our Raheem Sterling/Anthony Martial comparison.

FOOTBALL

Pep Guardiola admires the way his old foe Jose Mourinho has battled through recent adversity.

Mourinho has survived a testing period as Manchester United manager to head into today’s derby against City buoyant after a stunning away win against Juventus in the Champions League.

A month ago Mourinho was under heavy pressure at Old Trafford after a run of indifferent results and there were even reports the sack was imminent.

The turnaround since has impressed Guardiola, whose long and – at times – bitter rivalry with Mourinho, stretching back to their time in Spain, is well documented.

In other news, Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard is unhappy at the rough treatment doled out by his opponents and admits to feeling the effects.

Hazard missed three games with a back injury and is expected to make his first Premier League start since the October 20 draw with Manchester United when Everton visit Stamford Bridge today (18:15 UAE time).

When India lock horns with the West Indies in the third and final T20 at Chennai today, it will be a chance for stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma to break a few more records.

The limited-overs stalwart has been in fine form for India of late and recently went past Virat Kohli to become the country’s all-time leading run-scorer in the T20 format.

Take a look at the record Rohit could break today.
