For those looking to break away from the nine-to-five, there’s a job going with a difference. The Du Tough Mudder challenge is looking for a Chief Obstacle Tester (COT) who will have the opportunity of joining a team to tackle the course ahead of the event in December.

The COT will be provided with a team of up to five people, to tackle the obstacles as part of the pre-event preview. Candidates must be able to swim, problem-solve and overcome fears to be considered. Obstacles on the course including a mud mile, electroshock therapy, Berlin walls and hurdles.

Founded in 2010, Tough Mudder has become a fitness challenge phenomenon with over three million global participants with events hosted in nearly a dozen countries including the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and UAE. Dubai plays host to the 2018 challenge from 7-8 December at the Hamdan Sports Complex. The event is a 10k mud and obstacle course designed to test your physical strength, stamina, and determination. It’s a team-oriented challenge with no winners, medals or clocks to race against and open to all abilities to take part. For the little ones there’s a Du Mini Mudder challenge, which is a 1.5km obstacle course mud run designed especially for children.

To apply for the COT role, applicants need to nominate themselves and tag their teammates on du Tough Mudder’s social media pages (@dutoughmudder), explaining why they deserve the job. Applicants must apply before 31st October.

For those wishing to take part in the event itself and need to get in some extra training beforehand, free fitness sessions are being held every Friday at Warehouse Gym for du Tough Mudder ticket holders. Tickets start at AED 360 and can be purchased on www.toughmudder.ae.
