Watch: American swimmer Ryan Lochte says suspension for use of IV is ‘devastating’

After getting an intravenous injection and posting a photo on Instagram, Ryan Lochte was slapped with a 14-month suspension by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

While his punishment is not for a banned substance, the American swimmer admitted the mistake was ‘devastating’.

“This is devastating for my family and me, and I was finally back in top shape. I was ready to return to the national team and represent the US at the Pan Pacific Games this summer and World Championships of next year,” Lochte said.
