Good afternoon, David Cooper here giving you a bitesize look at what’s going on today in the world of sport.

TOP STORY

Egypt’s star man Mohamed Salah was named in the starting line-up for their final World Cup Group A match against Saudi Arabia on Monday (18:00 kick-off).

Salah scored in the Pharaohs’ 3-1 defeat to Russia in their second game last Tuesday, having missed the opener against Uruguay due to the shoulder injury he sustained in the Champions League final last month.

It was initially reported that Salah would not start, but a correction was made on Egypt FA’s Twitter account shortly after.

CRICKET

In the form of his life: Jos Buttler.

Jos Buttler rescued England as they pulled off a one-wicket win from the most improbable of positions to complete their historic 5-0 whitewash of Australia.

England’s hopes of pulling off a clean sweep appeared all washed up at Old Trafford when they faltered to 114 for eight in pursuit of an under-par 205 all out in the one-day series finale.

Here, Ajit Vijaykumar brings you this analysis on Buttler’s performance and has this to say about Australia captain Tim Paine and the chaos the Baggy Green find themselves in.

FEATURE OF THE DAY

Spain will seek to secure their passage into the last 16 with their final group game against eliminated Morocco on Monday night, with La Roja knowing a draw in Kaliningrad would be enough to send them through.

Here are the three big talking points ahead of the action.
