The match between Rich Target and Sport 4 All had plenty scoring opportunities for both teams thwarted by their excellent defence, which set the tone for what initially seemed like a balanced contest.

In the eighth minute, Rich Target’s Salem Al Khanbashi scored the first goal for his team, followed immediately by his team-mate Khalid Al Obaidli, which brought the team’s tally to three.

Sport 4 All brought one back through Mohammed Omar but in the second half, Rich Target doubled their attacks as Saif Al Hammadi netted the fourth goal, followed immediately by Khalid Al Obaidli who scored the fifth.

Meanwhile, Wasit’s Mohammed Al Qurmoti did not waste much time before breaking down Al Burkan to score two spectacular goals within the first few minutes of the match. His team-mate Mohammed Yaqoub got the scorecard ticking with a brilliant third goal, followed by a quick fourth by Obeid Al Suwaidi, taking Wasit into recess with a staggering lead of 5-0.

After half-time, Al Burkan set up an aggressive scoring strategy to narrow the score gap with Humaid Al Mazmi scoring the first goal for them.

But Wasit continued to go from strength strength with Rashid Darwish scoring his team’s sixth.

Mohammed Al Qurmoti added to the tally before Darwish netted again as Wasit went on to win 12-1.

Darwish said: “It’s an honour to have secured one of the winning positions of in the debut year of SRFC’s under-14 competition category. Being named the runners-up of such a prestigious competition fills us with confidence, and we are determined to come back with more skills and fire in the future editions of the championship.”

In the senior leagues of the competition, there was a lot surprises with Al Inthar claiming third place after conquering last year’s title-holders, Al Embrator, 8-2.
