Marka, the first public joint stock retailer operator in the UAE, have chosen a team of students from design schools across the country to design and conceptualise Real Madrid products.

The students will be selected on the basis of their academic performance and will work on a part-time basis.

“The students have been hand-picked by us and are under the age of 25. This is our way of keeping our brand and designs fresh by using the creative streak of young talents,” said Khalid Al Mheiri, Vice Chairman and CEO of Marka.

“The students are from different nationalities. We have students from all nationalities. I believe that whoever stays in the UAE is a local of this country and for this reason we have equal opportunities for all design school students.”

He further explained that the design will be revamped every two months to preserve its exclusivity and prevent it from being replicated.

The products include clothes, shoes, accessories and toys that will be distributed across the GCC region and made available at all Marka outlets.

“Our aim has been to secure such agreements with renowned brands – Real Madrid being a leading example – to provide our customers with the very best products across our sports, fashion and beauty, and hospitality outlets in the UAE and wider GCC region. This agreement will offer all Real Madrid supporters and fans a unique chance to purchase original club merchandise right in the GCC,” said Al Mheiri.
