The 34-year-old came into the game, needing just 38 yards to move ahead of Fran Tarkenton.

And Marino duly delivered when it mattered, connecting on a 9-yard completion to wide receiver Irving Fryar and throw for 333 yards breaking Tarkenton’s NFL record for career passing yards (47,003). But Patriots had the final say, winning the match 34-17
