George Foreman never let his age get in the way of his boxing ambitions and on this day in 1994, the popular pugilist became the oldest heavyweight champion when he defeated Michael Moorer in Las Vegas.

The fight was billed as ‘One for the Ages’, with Foreman taking on the champion who was 19 years his junior. For much of the fight, the age difference between the two warriors in the ring was on display, with Foreman struggling to keep up.

But after nine one-sided rounds, Foreman made his move in the 10th as his punches landed more consistently.

Finally, a right hand caught Moorer in the jaw and sent him to the canvas, with Foreman again the champion.
