After becoming just the second pair of brothers in history to open the batting in a Test, Sadiq and Mushtaq Mohammad managed another rare feat seven years later on this day in 1976.

For only the second time ever, a pair of brothers scored hundreds in the same Test innings, with Sadiq smashing 103 runs and Mushtaq hitting 101 to lead Pakistan to a winning total of 473 declared over New Zealand in Hyderabad. The pair were in fine form and peppered the boundaries, with Sadiq clobbering 14 fours and Mushtaq adding another nine.

Before them, the first pair of brothers to accomplish matching centuries in the same Test innings were Greg and Ian Chappell.

More memorable events on this day:

1992: Australia beat Great Britain 10-6 to claim the 10th Rugby League World Cup.

1996: Pakistan’s Hasan Raza becomes the youngest to ever play Test cricket, aged 14 years, 227 days.

2004: Michael Schumacher wins the 55th Formula One world title.
