Happy Birthday – June 2 – Troy Brown, Joe Thornton, Danny Rose

Former NFL star Troy Brown played college football at Marshall and in 2010 was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Brown’s career spanned over 15 years and he spent every one of them with the Patriots. He won three Super Bowl rings with the team and played on five of the eight Patriots teams to reach the Super Bowl.

He was primarily a wide receiver and retired as the NFL’s leader in career receptions.

1979: Joe Thornton, Canadian-American centre and alternate
captain for the NHL’s San Jose Sharks (37).

1973: Dominque Monami, Belgian former tennis player, who won bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics (43).

1990: Danny Rose, English footballer for Premier League club Tottenham and the England national team (26).

1995: Ezekiel Elliott, American running back for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and fourth overall pick in 2016 draft (21).
