The Wall, as they call him, is one of the most technically proficient batsman to play Test cricket.

Dravid, who turns 43 today, made 95 on his Test debut against England at Lord’s in 1996 and went on to cement his place as India’s
premier No3 batsman.

He made it a habit of scoring critical centuries in famous overseas wins, be it the 148 in Headingley, 223 and 72* in Adelaide or 270 in Rawalpindi.

He took over the captaincy from Sourav Ganguly and led India to their first Test win in South Africa in 2006 and first Test series
win in England for 21 years the next season. Despite resigning as captain in 2007, Dravid prospered as a batsman.

By the time he retired in 2013, Dravid had 13,288 Test runs from 164 matches including 36 tons, alongwith 10,889 ODI runs.

He is also the first player to take 200 catches in Tests.
