Leading Kuwaiti endurance driver Khaled Al Mudhaf is set to join Dubai-based Dragon Racing for this month’s Dubai 24hrs Race, piloting the #888 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 at the Autodrome.

This is the first International endurance race of the new year for GT’s, touring cars and 24H Specials, with one of the largest grids in the world, and a record-breaking 100 cars entered and ready to battle for honours.

The action will unfold in less than a fortnight’s time with the Dubai 24hrs set to start at 14:00 on Friday, January 15, and finishing the next day at 14:00 following 24 hours of non-stop racing.

In January 2014, Al Mudhaf tasted success with the same car, winning the Dubai 24hrs Pro-Am class title.

Al Mudhaf returns to racing after a two year hiatus but will be backed by a crew he knows well and competes alongside familiar co-drivers in the shape of Matt Griffin, Alex Kapadia and John Hartshorne.

He has raced with both Kapadia and Hartshorne previously in the European Le Mans series, where they piloted the LMP2 prototype at the Hungaroring circuit.

“This will be my third year racing in the Dubai 24hr and I’m under no illusions again how tough this one will be,” said Al Mudhaf. “There are around 100 cars this time and competition is always very tough.

“We will have a good strategy again and I know the crew and co-drivers well, so I think we will have a fighting chance.”
