The Daman Speed Academy (DSA) completed the final day of its summer camp by taking part in one of France’s Rotax Max Challenges.

Three drivers from the DSA team had made it through to the final day despite facing some of the best French drivers. The final day of racing at the 1,231m Laval Circuit kicked off early with a warm up session followed by the pre-final.

The three DSA drivers all put in solid performances in the pre-final races, with 15-year-old Amna Al Qubaisi consistently lapping inside the same second as the race leader in the National Junior Category.

Her 13-year-old sister, Hamda Al Qubaisi, also had a strong race in the Cadet class, posting some impressive lap times including 54secs.

In the Minime Category, nine-year-old Ali Al Shamsi consistently built up pace before spinning out with three laps to go.

In the final, Amna Al Qubaisi gained several positions finishing only half a second slower than the leaders, while Al Shamsi was pushed off the track making it very hard to rejoin.

Hamda Al Qubaisi had an impressive start before also being been pushed off the rack with only four laps to go.

Robert Cregan, Daman Speed Academy Program Director at ADR, said: “As anticipated the competition was really tough at the race weekend. But I believe it was important for the DSA drivers to get experience against some of the best international drivers in their classes.”
