Hosted by Al Forsan International Sports Resort, the karting race is part of the ‘Get Out, Get Active’ campaign to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors.

The first of three rounds for the Grand Prix will be held tomorrow (Friday), and there’s still time to register for your chance at the chequered flag by registering
before this evening’s (Thursday) 19:00 deadline.

The four-lap practice and qualifying will start at 08:00 on the day of the race, followed by a seven-lap pre-final.

The starting grid will be determined on the results of qualifying, with the 12-lap Grand Prix deciding the winners.

More than glory will be up for grabs as the overall prize money for each race will be around Dh16,000.

The entry fee is Dh400 per driver and the competition is open to everyone over the age of 16 years.

The second and third rounds of the competition will be on March 13 and April 3 to complete the Grand Prix.

Rashed Al Qubaisi, general manager of Al Forsan International Sports Resort, said: “Along with us opening the gates of Al Forsan and waiving the regular entrance and parking fees, we are confident that these activities will reach more people and motivate them to practice sports, as a beginner or an expert, and eventually always choose to lead a healthy life.”

So put your racing gear on and get ready for an action-packed weekend of great motorsport.
