Their Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 clocked a time of 1:58:952Sm, which leaves the UAE team in 3rd on the grid of the endurance race, with 95 cars competing for the title.

All geared up to make a play for a prime position on the grid, the Abu Dhabi Racing Black Falcon Team suffered a minor setback which put them in 4th position at 2:01:386m during the first Free Practice runs, a red flag signaling an accident suffered by Ferrari.

The team was also able to secure 4th position in the second free practice with a better time at 2:00:550m. The first qualification rounds also witnessed a congested circuit that stood barrier for the team to better 2-minute score, and ended at 2:00:017m.

Commenting on the incident, Khaled Al Qubaisi stated that the circuit was congested with other carssaying: “It was not all bad. We made good use of the free practice to get more accustomed to the circuit, putting in better times at each round, not counting the final qualification rounds later tonight.

“Come tomorrow, all our focus will be committed to take on the circuit with a determination to make podium.

“The task at hand is not simple with so many competitive teams racing to claim top position, but we all are ready and thrilled to raise the bar on making this race an unforgettable event for our fans and sponsors, we will make them proud.”
