The 2012 and 2013 champion holds a commanding 53-point lead at the top of the championship ahead of the final round at Dubai Autodrome this weekend.

A podium finish will all but guarantee a third title for the Honda rider.

“I’m all ready to take on the title challenge,” said Tannir, who finished fifth last term after battling injury problems. “It’s been an almost perfect season really.

“I’ve been stronger mentally and physically, the team is doing a great job and my Honda CBR has been running very well thanks to them.”

He added: “The track at the National Circuit is more technical with some hard braking points and less straits.

“So I have to work on my braking markers, stability of the bike underbraking where I can make up the time I lose on the flowing part,” the Lebanese rider continued.

“Mid corner speed is also important and we will try two different geometry and gearing setups for the bike tomorrow in free practice to assess what suits us best.”

It’s been a flawless campaign for Tannir thus far with consistent podium finishes in each of the five rounds.

His closest rival, Saudi Arabia’s Ahmed Almuyini is currently second in the championship table and will be looking to mount a serious challenge to cut the points’ gap in the current standings.

Despite his strong lead at the top, Tannir wants to finish the competition on a high and win the season-ending race this weekend in Dubai.

“I’m looking forward to fight for victory,” he said.

“For me and my team, it’s a matter of finishing in the points to be able to clinch the title.

“But we are going out to end the season with a win and that’s what I’m focusing on at the moment.”

The first race will start at 11:20 at the Autodrome Friday, before the second race gets under-way at 14:00.
