AUH Motorsports, promoters of the Middle East Radical Cup Series, have announced a number of changes for the 2014-15 season designed to reduce the cost of racing and entice drivers from other disciplines to the series.

The new season will comprise of six events with a double header at each round, with races scheduled to be held at the Dubai Autodrome, Yas Marina Circuit and Losail International Circuit in Qatar from October 2014 until March 2015.

The series is open to Radical Sportscars with classes for the Masters SR8, Supersports SR3RS and the Clubmans class for pre-2009 SR3 1500cc cars with K7 engines, newer SR3 cars fitted with the 1340cc engine and the PR6.

Also, the new Radical RXC will be allocated a class following testing and performance evaluation over summer in Europe.

The rounds will be held over two days with over five hours track time at each event, including two 45-minute races with compulsory pit stops.

During pit stops, driver changes can be made thereby enabling two drivers to share a car, leading to cost reduction.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three drivers in each class together with additional trophies in a variety of categories, including for best team, best GCC driver, best novice driver and the Christophe Hissette Trophy for the driver with the most number of fastest laps by class.

Additional race events for Radicals will be scheduled during the season but these will not form part of the championship and will only be optional.

With the aim of continuing the Radical Middle East Cup’s reputation as the ‘friendly series’, driver hospitality will be provided at each event and a post-race get together will continue to provide a relaxing wind down for competitors and teams at the end of each race weekend.

Those interested should email series coordinator Carl Rolaston at carl@auhmotorsports.com or call 056 113 0627.
