In what is a big boost for UAE leisure karting, AGMC Mini have announced they will be backing a team of Emirati drivers to contest the 2014 Kartdrome Endurance Championship.

Abdulla Al Ali, Hussain Umaid Ali and Nader Ahmed Abdulla have been chosen to fly the colours of Mini Dubai for the 2014 season.

Both Al Ali and Umaid Ali are experienced SWS drivers, having competed in the World Finals last year in France and are both consistent front runners in the Kartdrome based SWS Sprint races.

They also have experience, albeit with other teams, in the Endurance series, while Ahmed Abdulla is one of the up-and-coming talents on the local scene.

Team captain Al Ali said: "AGMC Mini decided to appear in season 2014 with a team that consists of top local drivers who have mixed experiences in the world of karting. Drivers already know the drill of such endurance events with all its track challenging configurations.

"The team will be competing in two categories – Pro Category and Nations Cup – which will increase the chances to step up the podium and be the contender for 2014 Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship. We will be doing our best to justify the faith shown in our talents by Mini," added Al Ali.

The brand new Mini Dubai team get their first campaign underway at this weekend's (20-21 February) Kartdrome 12 Hours, Round 1 of the 2014 Endurance Championship.

This is followed by round two the Kartdrome 600 Laps on 2-3 May, round three is the Kartdrome 700 Kilometres on 17-18 October and the grand finale will be the Kartdrome 24 Hours on 5-6 December.
