Al Qassimi was in sitting in 4th place overall at the start of leg 4 after being the 3rd fastest driver in “Qasr Al Sarab” stage in leg 3.

Sheikh Khalid said: “We were unlucky today, but to have technical problems is par for the course in motorsports unfortunately and sometimes we just have to accept it.

“Overall looking back over the last 3 days the experience has been very positive.

“Bearing in mind it is my first time competing in this kind of Rally, to be only 3 minutes off a podium position on at the start of day 4 was a very good result.

“I would like to thank everyone involved particularly Abu Dhabi Sports Council for all their support, we wouldn’t have been able to participate without it.”
